On Friday,
May 26, the City of Ottawa will launch a new
Internet-based carpooling system for residents
who work and live in Ottawa and Gatineau.
Use of this system is free, and you will be
able to find and select carpooling partners
according to your preferences such as home
and worksite location, distance from your
route and working hours.
As you might recall, last fall the City asked
its employees to fill out the TravelWise Employee
Commuter Survey. Almost 30 per cent of City
of Ottawa employees who participated in the
survey indicated that they would consider
carpooling if they could find compatible carpooling
partners. The city-wide carpooling system
is a great opportunity for you to find that
ideal partner!
You can access the carpooling system and register
for a carpooling partner at OttawaRideMatch.com.
With this new system, carpooling becomes a
feasible travel option for many more commuters
in the National Capital Region. Carpoolers
will benefit by commuting to work more cheaply
while at the same time contributing to a cleaner
environment.
For more information on the carpooling system,

This initiative is provided as a part of the
City’s TravelWise program. For more
