2006-2007 Crime Statistics for Kanata South Released

The 2006-2007 crime statistics for Kanata South are mixed news for our community. When I saw the increase in the crime rate I met with the police to discuss why. What I heard is that much of increase is because they are getting more calls about problems. There is also going to be some increase in the number of crimes (as opposed to the crime rate) as our population grows.

An increase in the crime rate is still grounds for concern and the police know this. However, increased reports mean that the police can respond effectively.
