One of the reasons that tough decisions were put off in the budget process was the request by the Mayor that Council hold Strategic Planning Sessions to set the direction and priorities for our city before making decisions that could be expensive to reverse.

For much of April, May and June councillors will be discussing the city’s priorities and how those priorities are affected by financial concerns.

Because of the impact this could have on city services we use, it is important the voices of individual residents are heard in this process.

On June 22, the draft plan will be released. Two and half weeks later, residents and community groups will have a chance to make presentations to Council about what is in the plan, what should be added and what should be removed. The time for making presentations will start on July 9.
