The WOCRC,
in partnership with Youth Net/Réseau
Ado, is pleased to announce that together
we will be offering an outdoor recreation
program called Take A Hike (TAH) for youth
from Kanata, Goulbourn, and West Carleton
communities. TAH aims to provide youth with
an opportunity to explore and develop healthy
strategies for coping with stress through
guided outdoor recreation activities. Outings
for the program may include hiking, caving,
and canoeing, among others. In addition, youth
will have the chance to learn outdoor survival
skills like navigation and first aid. The
cost to participate in Take a Hike is $1 per
week (per participant), for eight weeks. This
fee includes transportation from the meeting
site, snacks, and activity costs. The program
is for youth between the ages of 13 to 20
year old. It is set to begin on Thursday,
July 6th.
So, if you know any youth who you think might
be interested, please let them know about
TAH. I am including the program poster. Please
feel free to pass it on to youth, parents,
other service providers, or to post it. If
you have any questions, or to register, please
contact Hagan @ Youth Net/Réseau Ado
at hriglin@cheo.on.ca
or (613) 738-3915 or contact us at the WOCRC
for more info.
